About Us

Dog Pirate Beer Co. is a small, family-owned business driven by passion and tradition. Brewer and Co-founder Greg Christmas has been a dedicated homebrewer for over 25 years. After spending seven years working at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, Greg went on to establish Beach Time Distilling, a craft distillery that has been thriving for a decade. In 2023, Greg expanded his ventures to include a nano-brewery operation.

Located in Delaware, Dog Pirate Beer is a boutique craft brewery specializing in small-batch beers brewed on a two-barrel system. Greg’s expertise and brewing style focus on Belgian and English-inspired beers, reflecting his personal tastes and love for these traditions.

And the origin of the name? It was inspired by a rescue dog named Porter, who earned the title of "Dog Pirate" through his spirited antics and swashbuckling personality. Today, the memory of this beloved pet lives on as the heart and soul of the brewery's official logo.
